Working with Tableau

There are currently some issues when using Tableau to connect to the Data Layer.

Using automatic discovery

Tableau auto discovery has some limitations when working with the Data Layer. The following are the affected tables:

  • Counters

  • WindowsEvents

  • BandwidthData

  • CounterData

  • IPAddress

  • NetworkService

  • RemoteAccessSession

  • RemoteAccessSessionEvent

  • Win32_BaseBoard

  • Win32_Bios

  • Win32_ComputerSystem

  • Win32_DiskDrive

  • Win32_LogicalDisk

  • Win32_MotherBoardDevice

  • Win32_NetworkAdapter

  • Win32_NetworkAdapterConfiguration

  • Win32_PhysicalMemory

  • Win32_Processor

  • Win32_QuickFixEngineering

  • Win32_SystemEnclosure

  • Win32_Service

  • Win32_OperatingSystem

  • MWUsers

  • Site

  • Ticket

  • MonitoredNetworkServiceData

  • Win32_Software

  • Device

Even though these tables are not discovered automatically, you can still connect to them using the following format:

  • https://<your SC url>/OData/v1/<BandwidthData> where <your SC url> is the URL of your Service Center and <BandwidthData> is the table name, as found in the Views and Columns section of this document.
