Importing a VAR Database

You can import an SCData SQL database that was exported from another hosted Service Center. When you import a VAR database, the VAR is re-created in the new location. This is useful when moving VARs between cloud environments.

Onsite Managers and Device Managers don’t require any intervention during this process. However, once the database is migrated, it may take some time for Onsite Managers and Device Managers to check in to the license server and be able to communicate with Service Center.

Best Practices

Make a backup copy of the database before importing.
Re-register the VAR to ensure its new location and URLs are pushed to the license server. See To re-register a VAR Virtual Service Center.

To import a VAR database

On one of the Hosted Service Center application servers, start the HscVarMigratorTool. The default path to the HscVarMigratorTool is C:\Program Files (x86)\Level Platforms\Service Center\Bin\HscVarMigratorTool.exe.
Click the Import tab.
Select one or more vars from the list.
NOTE If you do not want the load the VAR immediately, disable the Load Imported Vars option.
Click Import.
