Additional Documentation for Creating Custom Apps

Additional documentation is available to help create custom apps that use the data collected by Barracuda RMM. For more information, see Creating Custom Apps.

Permissions required by the MWService account are now documented

For security purposes, it’s a best practice to limit the permissions given to domain user accounts. The minimum required permissions for the MSWService domain user account are now available. See:

Conversion of Support Assistant script from Visual Basic to PowerShell

Due to Microsoft’s deprecation of Visual Basic, the Uninstall Support Assistant script has been converted to PowerShell format.

Removal of custom sender email addresses

To simplify the Barracuda RMM experience and to ensure consistent email delivery from our hosted products, we've removed the ability to customize the Sender email address in our cloud environments. Emails, such as alerts and password resets, will be sent from the address rmm-alerts@barracuda.com, which is not monitored. This will provide additional consistency and simplicity for Cloud users.

This simplification only applies to users hosted on our Cloud environments. Non-hosted users will still be able to customize the address.

For security purposes, if you previously used a custom domain in your email address, we recommend removing include:smtp-out.mw-rmm.barracudamsp.com from the domain’s SPF records.
