How to Switch from Application Rules to Policy Profiles
Before You Begin
Switching from application rules to policy rules will not affect any of your access rules. However, if you have enabled application-based provider selection or other application-related details in an access rule, resetting the application rule set replaces the configured object with the default settings. For this reason, make sure you save the rule to a file or repository if you want to revert to the old rule set later.
Generally, it is recommended to create a backup of your configuration before switching from application rules to policy profiles in case you want to do the following:
Use the configuration as a configuration reference for setting up policy profiles
Switch back to application rules later
On a Control Center, you can also create a copy of your configuration to a repository.
For more information, see Backups and Recovery and Repositories.
