How to Create/Restore an ART Recovery Backup for a Managed Firewall in the Control Center
An ISO image carrying the CGF firmware 10.0.2 or 10.5.1 has usually a size of around 3GB. The /art partition provides the necessary space for storing such ISO files.
However, as the firmware continues growing due to new features and improvements, the space for storing new ISOs must grow accordingly to ensure working installations.
If you want to update the ISO together with the PAR-file, the system will notify you with the following message in the upper right corner in the "Notification Area":
"The /art partition of box [box name] does not have enough space for the ISO update."
As of firmware 10.0.2 and 10.5.1 and for newer versions, the preserved size for the /art partition is 6GB and should be at least equal or greater to cover future space requirements.
Also note, that for increasing the size of the /art partition, a new installation of the firmware is required.
To distribute an ISO file to a managed firewall, the Control Center as the hub for managed firewalls must store it for distribution. The first user-interactive request to push a specific ISO file to a managed firewall begins with downloading it from the Barracuda download portal. If more than one firewall requests this identical ISO, it will not be downloaded a second time.
After the download to the Control Center is finished, the ISO file will be pushed to the managed firewall.
