Configure DNS/Internet Access Using the Wizard

This article explains how to set up the SecureEdge DNS/Internet onboarding wizard for new user accounts. The new Web Filter Policy Wizard is powered by AI to translate your intent into ready-to-use policies during onboarding so you spend less time configuring and more time securing your environment.

Before You Begin

Note that if you have already completed the two mandatory steps (Introduction and Personalization) for your account, you can directly choose the Web Security onboarding wizard.

Start SecureEdge

  1. After logging in, you will be directed to the SecureEdge welcome wizard, which displays a welcome message and a brief product description. To start, click Start now!.

  8. The Web security posture allows you to choose your web filtering approach based on your desired balance of security controls, legal exposure, and workflow flexibility.

    • In the Web security posture section, specify values for the following:

      • Security Risk Tolerance – Determines how strictly the system handles potential web threats. Stricter settings block more, which may sometimes restrict access to borderline cases. E.g., set to Medium.

      • Liability Tolerance – Sets the threshold for blocking content that may cause compliance issues or policy violations. Higher settings impose stricter restrictions to reduce organizational liability. E.g., set to High.

      • Productivity Focus – Allows more content categories and applications to pass, keeping workflows smooth. E.g., set to Relaxed.

    • The AI Posture controls user access to AI tools. When set to Allow, specify which AI services are permitted.

      • In the AI Posture section, specify a value for the following:

        • Allow AI – Select Allow.

    • In the Select approved AI tools section, specify a value for the following:

      • Select the AI tool from the drop-down list. For example, in this case, ChatGPT and Claude are selected.

  9. The Setup location window opens. The setup location connects your devices to your DNS location, routing traffic through your configured policies.

  11. The You are set up! Next steps page opens and displays various options, including:

    • Explore Private Access (ZTNA). Your DNS Access plan includes 10 ZTNA seats. Add ZTNA policies to define which users or groups can access internal or external resources and under what conditions. These policies specify access criteria and security attributes, such as security inspection and device posture, which you can enable or disable based on your requirements.

    • Set up an Identity Provider and user directory for your environment.

    • Add locations with agentless filtering to extend AI and web protection to offices and networks without agents.

    • You can customize SecureEdge dashboards and configure the SecureEdge Reporting and Logs services to match your organization’s needs so you get the right visibility, metrics, and audit data in the format that works best for your team.
