How to Resize an Edge Service for Virtual WAN in Microsoft Azure
You can resize and redeploy an Edge Service for Virtual WAN in Microsoft Azure by generating a replacement token in SecureEdge Manager and using it to re-register the deployment in your Azure tenant.
Before You Begin
You need an existing Edge Service for Virtual WAN. For more information on creating an Edge Service for Virtual WAN, see How to Create a SecureEdge for Virtual WAN Edge Service in Microsoft Azure.
There will be a short downtime while redeploying to the selected scale unit.
Step 1. Get the Replacement Token for Edge Service
Go to https://se.barracudanetworks.com and log in with your existing Barracuda Cloud Control account.
The chosen Tenant/Workspace is displayed in the top menu bar.
From the drop-down menu, select the workspace containing your Edge Service for Virtual WAN.
Go to Infrastructure > Edge Services.
On the Edge Services page, locate the Edge Service for Virtual WAN you want to resize the scale unit for.
Click the arrow icon on the right side of the row to open the Edge Service details.
The selected <Name of Your Edge Service for Virtual WAN > page opens.
To generate a replacement token, click Get Replacement Token in the top-right corner of the window.
The Replacement Token for Edge Service window opens.
Click on the clipboard icon to copy the token to your clipboard.
Click OK.
Paste and save the token in a text file.
The replacement token is valid for a single deployment only and expires in 30 minutes. You can start the redeployment without waiting for the existing Edge Service to go offline.
Step 2. Redeploy an Edge Service for Virtual WAN in Microsoft Azure
Log into the Azure portal: https://portal.azure.com
To redeploy an Edge Service for Virtual WAN in Microsoft Azure with the replacement token copied in Step 1 and the new desired scale unit, follow the steps in How to Create a SecureEdge for Virtual WAN Edge Service in Microsoft Azure.
When the Edge Service for Virtual WAN starts and goes online, it replaces the existing service in SecureEdge. Verify this in SecureEdge by checking the Status card for the Edge Service and confirming that the listed Public IP(s) have been updated to the new addresses.
Log in to the Azure portal and delete the old Edge Service for Virtual WAN.
During the switchover from the old Edge Service to the new one, connected Sites and services may experience 1–5 minutes of downtime.
