How to Display the License State of a Site Appliance

How to Display the License State of a Site Appliance

The license status of a Site appliance can be easily displayed in the SecureEdge Manager

License States

The possible license states are as follows:

License

Type

Note

License

Type

Note

Unlicensed

-

The license is expired or not present on the Site device. Services are not enabled. An unlicensed box cannot establish any tunnel connections.

Licensed

PAYG

The Site device is licensed with a pay-as-you-go license. Services are all enabled.

Licensed

BYOL

The Site devices licensed with a bring-your-own license, and will expire on the displayed expiration date. Services are all enabled.

Licensed

Demo

The Site device is licensed with a demo license, and will expire on the displayed expiration date. Services are all enabled. Note that demo licenses are issued for a period of 60 days.

Grace Mode

-

The Site device is unlicensed, but temporarily still usable for 14 days. Services are all still enabled during that period. After the grace period has ended, services and tunnels are automatically disabled.

What happens when a license expires?

When a subscription exceeds the expiration date, it enters Grace mode. SecureEdge Site device licenses have a grace period of 14 days. No later than 14 days prior to the expiration date, the Barracuda SecureEdge Manager displays a warning message. After the grace period, services (such as SD-WAN, Configuration, Routing, Firewall, IPS, and URL Filtering) and tunnels are automatically shut down.
