How to Enable Public CIDRs for LANs in Sites and Private Edge Services

This article explains how to enable public CIDRs for LANs when configuring Sites or Private Edge Services. Enabling this setting lets you use public IP address ranges as LAN prefixes and/or in static routes. Note that the setting is automatically applied to all the appliances in the workspace when any of the following conditions are met:

• A static route with a public prefix is configured.

• A LAN interface with a public prefix is configured.

• A remote IKEv2 network is added to the workspace that includes a public CIDR.

Enable Force Public LAN Prefixes on a Site or Private Edge Service

Note that, in some cases, it may not be possible to automatically determine the correct value for this parameter. For example, when public CIDRs are advertised via BGP from a remote IKEv2 device connected to the SecureEdge setup in the current workspace, the system may not recognize those CIDRs as LAN prefixes. To address this, you can forcibly enable this parameter, which allows the setup to interpret public CIDRs as LAN prefixes.

1. Go to https://se.barracudanetworks.com and log in with your existing Barracuda Cloud Control account.

2. The chosen Tenant/Workspace is displayed in the top menu bar.

3. From the drop-down menu, select the workspace in which you want public LAN prefixes to be enabled for your Site or Private Edge Service.

4. Go to Infrastructure > Settings.

5. Expand the Settings menu on the left and select General.

6. The General settings window opens. 

7. In the Public LAN Prefixes section, specify a value for the following:

   • Force Public LAN Prefixes – Click to enable.

8. Click Save.
