Defining geographic controls

Defining your authorized geographic controls (country, region/state, city) enhances the accuracy of XDR detections by incorporating geographic data into detection models and automated workflows, reducing false positives.

You can add multiple geographic controls.

XDR uses this data to track login anomalies such as impossible travel. 

To define an authorized geographic controls

  1. In Barracuda XDR Dashboard, navigate to Administration > Geo Controls.

  2. Click Add Add.png.

  3. Select the following:

    • Country

    • Region/State

    • City

  4. Enter the following:

    • ASN - Autonomous System Name

    • ISP - Internet Service Provider name)

  5. Under VPN Usage, click one of the following.

    • Yes. Then enter the VPN name. Select + Add VPN and enter the VPN name. Repeat until all your VPNs are added.

    • No

  6. Under Remote Workforce, select one of the following:

    • Yes

    • No

  7. Select your Preferred Language.

  8. Click Save.
