Understanding the Barracuda Backup Vx
The Barracuda Backup Vx is a pre-configured, software-based virtual appliance that provides comparable functionality to the Barracuda Backup physical appliance:
The Barracuda Backup Vx allows customers to deploy the Barracuda Backup product on their own infrastructure using their own storage.
The Barracuda Backup Vx is subscription based with a per terabyte (TB) licensing, including Energize Updates and the choice of Cloud Replication.
The Barracuda Backup Vx helps fully virtualized customers more effectively use and deploy Barracuda Backup to protect their virtual environment without deploying a physical appliance.
The Barracuda Backup Vx includes encryption of data at-rest by default and is enabled automatically. Data is encrypted by a uniquely generated key. The key is protected by an encrypted master key which is further protected by the hardware-dependent boot process.
