Configuring a macOS Patching Policy
A policy is a group of system settings that determine how macOS patches are deployed to devices.
With macOS patching policies, you can:
check for updates
download new updates when available
install macOS updates
install important system data files and security updates
To configure a macOS patching policy
Click Service Delivery > Policies > Patching > macOS Patching.
Click the name of a policy.
Click the Settings tab.
Click Modify.
Select or clear any of the following check boxes:
Check for updates - Checks to see if updates are available.
Download new updates when available - If a new update is available, downloads the update.
Install macOS updates - If a new update has been downloaded, installs it immediately.
Install important system data files and security updates - If system data files or security updates have been downloaded, installs them immediately.
If Check for updates is not selected, none of the other tasks can be completed.
Click Save.
Click Close.
