Creating a New macOS Patching Policy
When setting up a new macOS patching policy, you begin by providing a name and description and then identifying the settings you want macOS patching to use.
You can also create a new policy by copying another policy and then renaming it. See Copying a macOS Patching Policy.
The macOS patching policy runs on Onsite Manager devices and on Device Manager devices that were prepped using the macOS Prep Utility. See Deploying Onsite Manager within a Domain. If you have trouble running the macOS Prep Utility, see this Knowledgebase article.
Click Service Delivery > Policies > Patching > macOS Patching.
Click New.
In the Policy Name box, type a name for the policy.
In the Description box, type a description of the policy.
Click Create.
To configure policy settings, see To configure a macOS patching policy.
Once your policy is created, you may want to do the following:
To identify devices and groups the policy will be applied to, see either of the following:
Creating Rules to Automatically Apply a macOS Patching Policy
Manually Applying a macOS Patching Policy to Devices and Groups
To add the policy to a service:
Follow the To add policies to a service procedure in Modifying Services.
