When Your Energize Updates Subscription Expires
You should keep your Energize Updates subscription current in order to continue applying the latest security definitions to your Barracuda Web Application Firewall and protect your network and users. The Barracuda Web Application Firewall will prompt you with a message at the top of the BASIC > Dashboard page before the subscription expires.
The table provides the details of the impact the expiry of Energize Updates subscription has on the capabilities of the Web Application Firewall in the different form factors.

On the ADVANCED > Energize Updates page,
You can no longer download the latest firmware.
The GEO IP definitions will not be updated with the latest definitions.
Virus Scan Engine will not be updated with the latest definitions.
The appliance will not receive any latest Security definitions.
The Identity theft patterns, attack patterns, patterns for input data types and parameter class will not be updated nor newly added.
The message EXPIRED is displayed for Latest General Release and Download Now is disabled.
You can still revert to previous or factory firmware.

Your Energize Update subscription has expired. Please click here to renew your subscription .
Error: This Virtual appliance's subscription has expired and is currently disabled. (Click here to purchase)
On the ADVANCED > Firmware Update page:

The message EXPIRED is displayed for Latest General Release and Download Now is disabled.
You can still revert to previous or factory firmware.
