Generating and viewing credentials for custom apps
NOTES
To create a custom app with the BarracudaONE API, you need a good understanding of application development. Support for custom application development is not available from the BarracudaONE Support deportment.
You must be a user with an admin role in BCC to access the BarracudaONE API reference.
Generating app credentials to authenticate custom apps
App credentials are the Client ID and Client Secret that apps you create use to authenticate with BarracudaONE.
When you generate credentials for a custom app, you select an account for the app to be associated with. The app will be able to access the data from that account and, if it’s a partner-level account, all that account’s sub accounts.
Once you’ve created the credentials, you can proceed to develop your application using the generated credentials and the BarracudaONE API.
Credential persistence
Client IDs are persistent and don’t expire or get hidden. Once you have created the Client ID, you are always able to copy it.
Unlike Client IDs, to protect your API credentials, an app's Client secret is displayed only once: when the app is created or when you generate a new secret. Copy it at that time and store it securely; it can't be viewed again. However, you can always generate a new secret for an app.
Some users are not able to access the Client ID and Client secret. For partner accounts, users who have access to a sub account but not the partner account don’t have access to the Client ID and Client secret. Users with access to the partner-level account and also sub accounts can see the Client ID and Client secret.
