This article explains AI security features in SecureEdge. You can identify AI tools across your environment, assess risk, and start governance without infrastructure changes. SecureEdge AI Security offers visibility into AI tool usage and helps manage AI-related risks by addressing Shadow AI through controls to allow or block AI applications and categories. Shadow AI detection works across all SecureEdge Access plans, with a focus on DNS access. It also works for existing users and users on SecureEdge appliances, so all SecureEdge users receive this functionality at no additional cost. Users who start the AI Security trial in Barracuda One will be redirected into SecureEdge, where they can secure their AI usage and view Shadow AI activity in their network.

Key Highlights of AI Security:

• Provides a high-level view of the organization’s overall AI risk posture

• Enables visibility into approved, blocked, and unreviewed AI tools

• Supports decision-making to ensure AI adoption aligns with policy and minimizes unmanaged risk

• The Overview page shows a summary of AI usage and risk within your network and displays the following:

  • Graphs showing AI application usage statistics and risk exposure for a pre-defined time period.

  • Current protection status: number of AI applications allowed, blocked, or unreviewed.

  • Recommended actions, such as blocking all unreviewed applications or all high-risk applications.

  Clicking a recommended action opens a confirmation dialog before the action is applied. Triage actions open the relevant subpage with filters pre-applied. Clicking a widget opens the corresponding subpage for further details.
