How to Enable Reporting on SecureEdge-Integrated CloudGen Firewalls

This article describes how to enable reporting for a SecureEdge-integrated CloudGen Firewall (CGF). Reporting streams DNS telemetry from the firewall to the SecureEdge Reporting Service, providing visibility into AI tool usage by LAN clients behind the CGF through the AI Security dashboard in SecureEdge Manager and BarracudaONE.

Requirements

  • Ensure that your CloudGen Firewall meets the following firmware requirements:

    • Version 10.5.1 or later (recommended)

    • If you are using version 10.5.1, install hotfix HF1174 before enabling reporting. Download the hotfix from the Barracuda Networks download portal.

  • You must enroll CGF in SecureEdge Manager via Integration > CloudGen Firewall. You can enroll standalone or Control Center–managed CGF appliances. For more information, see How to Configure a Barracuda CloudGen Firewall in Barracuda SecureEdge.

  • CGFs with an individual license are supported. Appliances licensed only via a pool are not eligible.

Enable Reporting on a CloudGen Firewall

  1. Go to https://se.barracudanetworks.com and log in with your existing Barracuda Cloud Control account.

  2. The chosen Tenant/Workspace is displayed in the top menu bar.

  3. From the drop-down menu, select the workspace containing your CGF appliance.

  4. Go to Infrastructure > CloudGen Firewall.

  5. The CloudGen Firewall page opens. Select the CGF appliance you wish to enable Reporting for.

  6. In the REPORTING column, click to enable reporting. By default, Reporting is enabled.

After you enable reporting, the CGF streams DNS telemetry to the SecureEdge Reporting Service.

Disable Reporting on a CloudGen Firewall

To disable reporting on a CloudGen Firewall, under the REPORTING column, click the reporting toggle to turn reporting off.

Note

Disabling reporting stops DNS log streaming from the CloudGen Firewall (CGF), so no new activity is displayed in the AI Security dashboard. Shadow AI policy enforcement, including AI application blocking and allowing, continues to function normally and is not affected by reporting settings.
