Multi-Factor Authentication in Barracuda Cloud Control
Multi-factor authentication (MFA), also known as two-factor authentication, is a security feature that requires two forms of authentication to access Barracuda Cloud Control (BCC). In addition to your email address and password, MFA requires a verification code from a trusted device such as your smartphone. This extra layer of security helps protect your account even if your password is compromised.
How MFA Works in Barracuda Cloud Control
By default, MFA is set to Optional on all BCC accounts. The account administrator controls whether MFA is optional or required:
Required — All users on the account must configure an MFA device and enter a verification code every time they sign in. If MFA was not previously configured, users are prompted to set it up on their next sign-in.
Optional — Users can choose whether to enable MFA for their own account. Users can enable or disable MFA from Settings > My Profile in BCC.
Recommended MFA Apps
Barracuda Networks recommends the following authentication apps for best compatibility with BCC:
Google Authenticator
Microsoft Authenticator
