Users and Groups
Barracuda Cloud Control (BCC) uses three layers of access control to manage what users can see and do. Understanding how these layers work together is essential before adding or managing users on your account.
Privileges, Entitlements, and Permissions
Layer | What It Controls | Where to Set It |
|---|---|---|
Privileges | BCC-level access – whether a user can manage other users or billing | Settings > Users > User Details |
Product Entitlements | Which Barracuda products and services a user can access | Settings > Users > Product Entitlements |
Permissions / Roles | What a user can do within each product (view only, admin, operator, etc.) | Within each product's interface or via Configure Permissions |
How they work together:
An administrator adds a user to the BCC account and sets their Privileges (User Management, Billing Administration, or neither).
The administrator enables Product Entitlements, selecting which Barracuda products the user can access (Backup, Appliance Control, Email Gateway Defense, etc.).
For products that support granular access, the administrator configures Permissions, assigning a role that determines what the user can do within that product.
Accessing User Settings
To manage users and groups, in BCC, go to Settings > Admin > Users.
You can also use Active Directory Authentication to store and administer BCC user accounts via your organization's LDAP servers. See LDAP Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID for details.
