Audit Log Page
The Audit log page displays all activities initiated by any user on the Barracuda Cloud Archiving Service including search-related activities. You can browse through all actions from this list, or perform a search to locate a specific subset of actions.
Note that Audit Log details are saved for a period of 7 years.
Filter Options
When the Audit log page is loaded, no filter options are set by default, and all audit log records display. Using filtering options, you can monitor a specific date range, a specific action type, or a specific user - or combine criteria together. Unlike the Search page, you may only specify at most one criterion per criteria type, and all specified criteria are always ANDed together. Leave any criterion blank to allow all possibilities for it. You can specify the following criteria:
Start – Use the date-picker to choose a date to form half of a date range. If Start date is specified, no results earlier than that date display. Leave this field blank (or delete its contents) to view results with no restriction on how old they may be.
End – Use the date-picker to choose a date to form half of a date range. If End date is specified, no results later than that date display. Leave this field blank (or delete its contents) to view results with no restriction on how recent they may be.
User – Enter a user name to view only actions performed by that user. Once you start typing a user name, you may find it is easier to choose it from the drop-down menu that appears. Leave this field blank (or delete its contents) to view results for all users. If a user does not display in the drop-down menu, it may be that that user has not performed any actions which have been recorded in the Audit log.
Type – Select an action type from the drop-down menu to view only actions of that specific type. Select blank to view results of any action type. If a type is not displayed in the drop-down menu, it may be that no actions of that type have been performed, or that action is not tracked in the Audit logs.
Once you have entered any filter criteria you want to use, click Search to retrieve results from the Audit Log matching your criteria.
Note: You may specify Start and End by typing in a date instead of using the date-pickers. If you do so, you must specify the date in the format MONTH-DD-YY. If you use an invalid format, or if you enter an invalid date range (that is, End comes before Start), an error message displays when you click Search.
Results Pane
The Results Pane show the audit log records matching the search criteria display. Information displayed for each record includes:
Date – When this action occurred and was logged in the Audit log.
User – Which user performed this action. Some actions are performed by the Barracuda Cloud Archiving Service automatically, not actively by a specific user. For these actions, the user displays as "System".
Type – The type of action this record is for. For instance, when a user logs in, a "Login" action appears, and when a user instructs the Barracuda Cloud Archiving Service to import a PST, an "Import PST Files" action displays.
Detail - Many audit log records contain information in addition to the date, user, and type. In some cases, a useful piece of this additional information displays in the Detail column, for instance, to narrow down a broad action type.
Details Pane – Many audit log records contain information in addition to the date, user, and type. To view all of this additional information for an audit log record, click on that record's row; a pane displays the record details. The additional information varies by action type, and sometimes within a given type.
To export audit logs, click Export to download directly from the user interface.
Choose how many rows of audit log results to display per page using the items per page option at the upper-left corner.
Choose which side of the Results Pane the Details Pane is to appear using the Previewoption at the upper-left corner. Options are right and bottom.
